How to maintain your cushion
Plant dyeing is an art and ancestral know-how that requires certain precautions to preserve the beautiful colors of these cushions. In this article we explain everything to you in order to preserve and maintain your Opportunity for Women cushions as best as possible.
For cotton cushions
The cushions of the collection Dokmai , Deaf & Mute, Walang , Niamsa are made of cotton and vegetable dye. It is important to take the greatest possible care of them if you want to wash them, but above all to avoid washing the cover as much as possible. Indeed, who says vegetable dye, says no chemical fixative, therefore a dye likely to fade during washing.
However, if you need to wash your cover, we recommend that you do so by hand and in cold water using a little Marseille soap without rubbing the threads together too much . Rinse in water containing 1/3 white vinegar . Finally, wring gently and air dry but not exposed to the sun.
For polyester cushions
The cushions of the collection Ede And Jarai are made from polyester. We do not recommend machine washing these cushions as this could cause the threads to get caught in the drum.
However, for machine washing we recommend that you do it in a special bag to avoid releasing microplastics. However, prefer hand washing in cold water.
Tips and Golden Rules
The three golden rules to remember before any cushion maintenance:
1- Make sure to dry your cushion in the shade and not in the sun.
2- Never bleach your product.
3- Iron and wash inside out.
The ecological tip of the vinegar bath:
In a basin of cold water add 3 tablespoons of white vinegar and soak your cover in this solution for about fifteen minutes. This little vinegar bath gently cleans your cushion and preserves its pretty colors.
