In Buon Ma Thuot , in the heart of the Vietnamese Highlands, 10 women from the Ede ethnic group are reviving their ancestral craft. From mother to daughter, they perpetuate the art of weaving, creating patterns inspired by their natural environment: birds, bees, foliage and symbols of the forest . Their dream: to turn this passion into a profession in its own right.
Oeko-Tex certified polyester yarns were selected because weavers no longer have the capacity to dye cotton yarns. Plants have disappeared along with the forest. With the primary goal of providing them with employment, Opportunity for Women sought the best ecological and responsible compromise and chose yarns made from recycled polyester or from dormant stocks.
