The cooperative: Weaving and vegetable dyeing
These 10 women will be trained in sewing and communication. They have already shown great efforts in this direction, since they are trying to make themselves known on the networks, in particular via publications on Facebook. They wish to train in sewing in order to be autonomous on the entire production chain.
The weavers learn about the market and the demands to weave products that meet the significant demand from tourists who admire the know-how. They learn or partner with seamstresses to offer finished products. They begin to make themselves known through publications on Facebook. They thus generate a larger and more regular income.
The village of Ban Ouay Houne is home to around thirty women who still know how to weave. With the support of OFWs and the help of Mathilde, a young French woman living in the region, Sydachan and her sister Southsada are bringing the weavers together, improving the quality of their dyeing and weaving, and diversifying their products to reach a wider audience. Sydachan is taking up sewing to sell locally and throughout the country.
They run a sales outlet in the tourist village of Tadlo and make their products more widely known.
OfW is marketing the first products in the store in Buis les Baronnies.
