Description
Description
These silk cushions are woven at Inle Lake in Myanmar using the "ikat" technique.
Ikat is a dyeing and weaving process in which the design is created by first dyeing the threads in all the colors that will appear in the final pattern, at very precise intervals. When the fabric is woven, the design emerges through the alignment of the colored sections of the threads.
To preserve certain areas from being dyed, parts of the thread are tightly wrapped with other threads before dipping them into the dye. This process is repeated for each color.
Let yourself be carried away by the artistic heritage of the Shan people with this cushion, which embodies elegant simplicity and traditional craftsmanship.
