This square potholder was handcrafted by artisans in Myanmar, heirs to ancestral know-how. The country boasts a remarkable textile heritage, which these women reinterpret in each of their pieces. Hailing from ethnic minorities such as the Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, and Shan, they work on traditional, often portable, looms, allowing them to create from the comfort of their homes. The patterns they create are inspired by the emblems specific to their communities.
