Description
Description
Cotton and polyester pouch, hand-woven and sewn by artisans in Myanmar. Made from scraps of fabric from the "longyis", the traditional unisex skirt worn by the Burmese, each pouch is unique. The patterns vary, according to the ethnic groups (Shan, Mon, Kachin, Chin, etc.), each having its own distinct designs.
The Kachin ethnic group, living in northeastern Myanmar, is known for its finely woven embroidery featuring geometric patterns such as zigzags and diamonds.
