Description
Description
These cushions are made from "longyis" the traditional mixed skirt worn by the Burmese. Each ethnic group (Shan, Mon, Kachin, Chin...) has its own patterns. The Kachin ethnic group lives in the northeast of Burma, their patterns are finely woven embroideries in geometric shapes, zigzags or diamonds.
Different embroidered patterns are linked on a longyi to make it a unique piece - woven according to the inspiration of the weavers and depending on the availability of threads. YounSone selects the longyis carefully to produce between 6 to 8 cushions per longyi. These cushions exist in several sizes and harmonize with each other with the variations of the embroidery.
